When is Mother's Day 2008?
The headline question may be a single question, but it has multiple answers, depending where you live. Many countries have some form of celebratory day for mothers, often following on from the American Mother's Day. Even so, dates vary across the world. In the UK, where I come from, the special day for mums is called Mothering Sunday, though its increased commercialization in recent decades has meant that it is now often referred to as Mother's Day.
Here are some of the dates of Mother's Day 2007 around the world:
UK - March 2 2008 (In the UK, Mothering Sunday falls on the fourth Sunday of Lent)
USA - May 11 2008 (always the second Sunday in May). The same day is designated as Mother's Day in some other countries, including Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Japan, and Turkey.
Poland - May 26 every year, so May 26 2008
Spain - First Sunday in May each year, so 4 May 2007
Vietnam - 8 March every year, so 8 March 2008
